It’s no secret that when you’re stuck in the same place all the time, things can get monotonous. You may even start to notice yourself becoming very ‘flat’. It’s almost like you’re losing touch with all the other facets of yourself that you might’ve forgotten about. And that’s exactly why we often don’t notice how two-dimensional we’ve become until we go on an adventure and get reintroduced to those bonus versions of ourselves that exist in other spaces.
This feeling has been magnified for many in the last year or so since most people haven’t been able to travel. It’s…
I’ve known that I’m considered primarily introverted in my personality for years. I only learned that I have an avoidant attachment style very recently. This only comes to light, I suppose, when you’re actively dating and entering new relationships. It’s especially magnifying when the person you’re dating has a totally different attachment style to your own. But more on that later.
If your PMS is like a tornado destroying everything in its path each month — and you feel like you spend the rest of it trying to put the pieces back together, it could be PMDD.
I want to bring awareness to this condition, because I suffered for years in the dark. Awareness can open up so many doors to feeling better and suffering less every single month of your life.
“The actual prevalence is estimated to be even higher, but many women may not come forward regarding their concerns because of fear of stigmatization.”
As I’m sure we can all agree, getting rejected seriously sucks. Especially when you’ve spent a lot of time writing these long form articles. Or, when you’ve written a whole novel, a feature film script, etc. I’ve done it all and I’ve been rejected for it all.
But the fact is, it’s a cornerstone of being a writer. You literally cannot have the success without a little rejection. Sometimes, unfortunately, it’s a lot of rejection. Before we delve into anything else, it’s important you accept that. …
I’ve been a freelance writer for years, but I only started making real money about a year ago. There was also a significant change in the things I did — this didn’t just happen by chance. So as someone who had been working toward this result since getting into the business, I can tell you exactly what I did differently that suddenly started yielding results. I’ll also enlighten you on the things I’ve learned along the way.
Although the path might differ for everyone, some things are pretty constant. Once you see the logic behind those things they’ll probably seem…
Arya walked around the streets of this grey, empty city during a seemingly ever-extended lockdown. She had lost count of the days they’d been in this one, but what she could easily count was the amount of people she’d interacted with in the last month. She could count them on one hand, in fact. The day for which the city’s inhabitants had all been holding their breath had recently passed, but the government decided to extend it. They were all suffocating now. Those who had come up for a breath of fresh air had been fined considerably.
Arya looked to…
As we make our way through the trials and hardships of life, we can get a little hardened. We essentially start to build barriers around our heart in order to protect ourselves from any further hurt happening to it.
This is normal, yet it isn’t a state we generally want to remain in. That being said, it can be incredibly difficult to reverse it with the snap of your fingers. Instead it takes time, effort, and intentions to un-freeze ourselves.
I’m sure you’ve heard of plenty of heart-opening yoga poses. There are full-on yoga sequences you can do — this…
Within hours of the U.S. border closing, my then-boyfriend rushed over from England. If he hadn’t we would’ve had to spend months apart — maybe even a year or more. We’d just started dating, so we both felt that kind of distance would be a death sentence for the recently ignited, newly born relationship.
It was a drastic, yet necessary decision in our eyes. We suddenly weren’t long-distance dating anymore. We had been forced to skip conventional dating altogether — we were now living together after three months of only virtual interaction and a few short visits back and forth.
If you haven’t meditated many times in your life, I’ll give you something to relate this concept to: travelling with someone you love. This can be like its own form of love language for many people. When you travel with someone else, you’re enjoying a mutual passion while also having a shared experience exploring the world together. It’s a whole different level of intimacy.
What’s the next best thing if you’re either single or needing some solitude and escapism, and you can’t travel because the world is undergoing a pandemic? Meditation, I tell you. Meditation is the next best thing…
A little insight on this rollercoaster ride.
Firstly, what do I mean by ‘born writer’? You’re considered a born writer if:
Writers tend to have a natural love/hate relationship with their lives, that’s for sure. So, what are the highs and lows? The love and the hate? Let’s start out with the lows first.
Ever heard the phrase…
Born writer + passionate traveler + yoga instructor = content on travel & adventure, mental health & mindfulness, goals & motivation, love & magic ✨
